John F. Aylmer
Director |
John F. Aylmer served on the board of directors of the Cape Cod Bank & Trust Co. from 1982 until its acquisition in 2004. For the last 15 years of his tenure as director at Cape Cod Bank & Trust Co., Mr. Aylmer chaired the Audit Committee and served as a member of Bank's Executive Committee. He has served as a Commissioned Naval Officer, on active and reserve duty, along with the U.S. Merchant Marine as an officer. Admiral Aylmer was elected to the position of Selectman/Assessor for the Town of Barnstable in 1966; he was later elected to the State Senate in 1970, representing the Cape and Islands District- consisting of 34 municipalities, where he served for 12 years. In 1981, Senator Aylmer was appointed President of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and served in this capacity until 1991. Active in the service of many non-profit organizations as a volunteer, director, and member, Admiral Aylmer has assisted the Cape Cod Baseball League, Hospice and Palliative Care, the Salvation Army, along with several museums, foundations, and youth groups. Mr. Aylmer is a resident of Centerville, Massachusetts. |
